The German company Zakspeed who had close links with Ford, are mainly know for their hugely powerful and successful Capri Group 5 racing machinery. But they also turned their attention to the MkII Escort and the little family car took on a menacing look with its huge wheel arches and rear wing. This is the black car with Mampe sponsorship which was raced in DRM Championship at the 1978 Norisring round by M Hahne. It not only stunning to look at but has great performance too fitted with high -end components and an angle winder mount fitted with a large-can motor rated at 20,500k rpm.
